Author Biography

CAROL ANN ROSS is the author of the Murder by the Sea series, The Topsail Island Trilogy, and The Blue House Series. Having spent her childhood climbing sand dunes, doing the beach thing, and deep-sea fishing, Carol incorporates those experiences in the works she pens. Her novels are full of intrigue, romance, and incidious intent, all set in picturesque south eastern North Carolina. She is a graduate of UNC-A and Spring Hill College in Alabama.

The Greedy Octopus

I must get better at controlling my emotions, at hiding myself, not wearing my heart on my sleeve. “Deception,” she whispered, “I must get better at deception.” Shaking her head no, she scolded herself for thinking that deception was something she had to do. Slowly she composed herself as she rolled down the window.
