Zach grinned and began, “Well, I am from Missouri but I’ve lived just about everywhere or at least a lot of places. My parents were military, Army, so I lived in Tokyo, in Daegu City, South Korea, in Rota, Spain. Loved Spain. The beaches were spectacular and the people very friendly. And then a couple other places. Then I was on my own for a while. That didn’t work out so well, so I thought I’d join the Army like my old man - spent some time in Afghanistan.” He paused for a moment.
“See any action?” Murphy asked curiously.
“If that’s what you want to call it.” His lips tightening, Zach continued, “I was going to be a lifer until I busted an eardrum. Then, I tried a little college, in a couple of places.” He chuckled. “Worked a few jobs here and there-tried my own business.” He shook his head and sighed. “Been doing odd jobs lately.” He shrugged. “And here I am.”
