It’s hard work pushing through the distracted crowd. She weaves in, out, and around people on the jam-packed sidewalk. Lights flash from cameras held in spectators’ hands as the floats pass by. Several local television station trucks are also filming the parade. All around her, the crowd cheers and whistles for the Blackhawks hockey team, currently ranked number one. Directly behind the sports team’s float, two stately gelding horses carry the regal mounted police officers. Their eyes scan the crowd.
