Evan handed her the booklet, DVD, and a fresh bottle of water which she immediately opened. The bottle was sweaty with cold water drops and looked delicious. As she smiled and acknowledged his thoughtfulness, she picked up the booklet with her other hand. She opened to page one and started to read when several drops of water from the bottle dripped onto the pages. To her amazement, the pages simply started to melt. She quickly tried to blot the water off the pages but failed as all but the front cover were gone in a matter of seconds.
“Please tell me you saw that, Evan,” Petra calmly stated, totally amazed.
“Petra, I have never seen anything like that for any instructional document. I am so sorry about the water. Why such poor quality of paper? I might expect it out of a third world country, but not domestically.”
“Yep, we are in agreement. I was thirsty, and the water wasn’t the problem. The only time I have seen this sort of paper is for secret messaging, usually depicted in the movies.
“Okay, I’m going to take a look at this DVD. Let’s move the water far away.”
“No problem. I am going to go check on some things, Petra, while you’re working on that. I’m sure watching you would be about as much fun as watching paint dry.”
Petra laughed and replied, “That’s funny. You go right ahead and take care of what you need to, I’ll be fine. I am glad you called us. We will talk later, I promise. Plus, I want to sample your wine.”
After Evan left, Petra concentrated as she loaded the DVD and tried to find any real files. What she found was roughly a hundred folders all of which were empty. No files, no executables, no nothing. One folder caught her attention. It was labeled Ghost_Code but was also empty. The only thing she now knew for certain was that the creator of this program at the winery was somehow tied to the other events.
