DANDELION opens to the warming sun. Rhyonna awakes and watches yellow flowers pull open to the light.
"Oh, Dandelion, what a perfect day. I am ALIVE! I am home! Hello, sun. Hello, sky. Good morning, trees. Hello, singing birds. Good morning, flowers. Hello, butterflies."
Rhyonna raises her arms, as if to dive into the sky, stretches and sings:
As my Dandelion opens,
Sunshine streams across velvet petals.
The light of the sun warms me,
Brightly I shine polished by Dandelion's.
As my Dandelion opens,
The morning light flickers
And dances on me and reflects my joy.
The pinks of the rising sun ignite my cheeks.
The greens of the earth glisten in my eyes.
As my Dandelion opens,
I gently pick the sparkles from the dewdrops.
I balance them on my ears.
Then I scatter their light on my hair,
Which flows around me like air streams.
As my Dandelion opens,
I savor crunchy pollen.
I relish the zestful, tart flavor.
The spicy fragrance clears my nose.
As my Dandelion opens,
I have the strength and boldness
From my flower, Dandelion.
Rhyonna slowing chews the spicy pollen, savoring the tastes.
