Fear gets our adrenaline going, the blood moving, and brings us face to face to what is essential in life—which makes for powerful writing. For this exercise, you will write about fear. First of all, read the poem, “Feared Drowned” by Sharon Olds, or the example writings with this exercise.
Now, make a list of times you have been afraid:
Choose one of those times and write.
