They were at war. The world seemed to be at war. Humans against non-normals against Darkness and Silence. Anissa was a rare part of the world, a safe heaven. For some reason, the hatred didn’t reach these islands even though Darkness and Silence did. Humans and non-normals didn’t exactly get along but they created some twisted peace here. The two weren’t trying to destroy each other. Peace Caterin didn’t mean to make her way here. She was a fighter. She wasn’t supposed to enjoy peace. She couldn’t bring herself to leave Annissa.
The music from Peace's radio was a somber drawl that created memories of slimy, knotty fingers opening her head and digging into her brain. The song ended but the Communicator's voice was just as stagnant.
For my brothers and sisters replenishes are available from EPT's breeders but it is not at the usual place. We'll save you some ETay.
One day…
She laced her fingers behind her head and smiled at the radio.
"One day,” she repeated.
Peace changed the station until she no longer heard voices reminding her she hadn’t seen or talked to Mom and Dad in three years.
The Communicator of the next station tried to fight the Silence. Their barren voice gave the invisible beast fuel. Peace understood the Communicator’s anguish being trapped in an apartment for years. Their own voice and the music they grew to hate was their only companion. They chose their path so their loved ones would never be without noise—never be subjected to Silence. They couldn't falter now.
