My mom wanted to be a nun, but my dad gently persuaded her to marry him. But for a woman who thought about being a nun, she also held some other very interesting thoughts. It's not that she necessarily believed these things, but she told me about reincarnation, that some people believe there's a convening session between lives, and many other esoteric ideas that, looking back, surprise me. When she took me to church, sometimes we sat up in the balcony, and she explained what was going on in the service. She also told me about Mary Magdalene, and even back then the story didn't sit right within me. I knew there was more. So I wrote the "more."
