We fed five thousand, with the miracle of right timing. And we had no wires or signals that crisscross the Earth, connecting all of humanity at the speed of light. Oh, imagine what you can do now.

And then do it. Please. After all, it is what you agreed to do when you agreed to come here.

It is wonderful to live in the extraordinary places that we create for ourselves, but that is not necessarily where our true growth happens. The silence is where we go to fill up, but it is the loudness of everyday living that strengthens us, too. It is not meditating alone, it is not sitting alone in caves or on the desert, although those times serve us, often very deeply—it is when we meet life on Earth face to face, sometimes in very strange places…and accept it…and do everything we can to make it better.
It is easy to love those who love you, and it is so much harder to pray for those who despitefully use you, to quote my beloved somewhat. And sometimes it is easier to take the lower road. Some people get away with lying, stealing, manipulating—for years! But for those of us who know, a slight transgression can have immediate, thorough repercussions. Spirituality can wreak havoc on the lower level desires and those who pursue them.
And speaking of being in strange places…well, we just never know. We might be in a strange place, crazy even, far beyond anything we ever would have thought up of our own accord, but we might be the only words of the Divine that someone gets to hear. We might set them on a much straighter path to God. We have been used for a greater purpose—which is an answer to both our prayers and theirs.
Sometimes it is hard to believe that the planet gets along as well as it does, given some of the most intelligent and powerful people in the world are cut-throat, egotistical, voraciously greedy, even corrupt.
I was talking about Jerusalem at the dawn of the first millennium—what were you thinking of? Oh, yes, right, it has not changed as much as it could have.
So how can we see and maintain the higher picture while living in a world of petty squabbles, shameless gluttony, and rampant destruction? Our job is to see the Divine in everyone…and then meet them where they are.
You need not worry about how the others will get it. Just rise and they will rise with you. And if there is something in your life that no longer serves you, just rise and it will fall away, because it cannot rise that high. Your main mission: to rise. Be higher than the person you were last year, yesterday, ten seconds ago. And don’t worry about having to preach on a mountainside, the way Yeshua did, or in a classroom, the way I did. Just shine your highest self; that will be preaching enough.
