“Give me some of you, drawing on your life,” Cyn finally said. “Give me some of that. Tell me how to make my dreams comes true. Just you—not Michael Beckwith or Oprah or the Dalai Lama or anyone. You, Trish, tell me how it’s done. How do we do this life thing we have here?”
The words boarded a jet plane and started flying back, albeit slowly. “Be crystal clear about what you want,” I said. “Set the intention that what you want is here now. Give thanks that it’s done. Take care of your affairs full on, no slouching—go to the gym, pay your bills early, things like that. Life doesn’t reward shirking or laziness or malingering. Enjoy the rest of your life so much that you don’t need it…whatever that it is you’re waiting for. Live in gratitude and as love. Just create a life so wonderful that the dream—the relationship, the part, the whatever—is the rose on the icing of the cake. It’s coming. Just enjoy now. That’ll help it happen faster. And it won’t matter if it does or not, because you’re happy with life and yourself now. That’s all that really matters.”
“See? You’re as wise as anything or anyone you quote.”
