Obey is a Four Letter Word
This excerpt takes place in a Sunday morning service after the mark of the beast has been introduced. Many people in the service know someone who has already received The Mark. Visitors are there wondering 'Does it really matter?' In his sermon, Pastor Montague boils things down to a very simple truth: Disobedience to God is SIN. It is obedience to GOD's word that brings salvation. I have taught preschool for about 25 years. During most of that time I taught at a Christian school where we had a daily Bible lesson with the children. Most Bible stories can be simplified to a preschool level and many of them have the theme of obedience woven into its fabric, starting at the Garden of Eden and ending at the judgement day. Parents always appreciated us teaching obedience to their children. Our heavenly Father also desires obedience in His children.

After a couple more testimonies, the pastor encouraged everyone to be sensitive to the Holy Ghost. “If you’ll pray, you’ll stay!” He admonished, “If you fast, you’ll last! And to that, I want to add that if we say ‘yes Lord’ down here, He’ll say ‘enter in’ up there.
“Now I want to talk about obedience. Praying is essential, fasting is important, worshiping is imperative, holiness is critical, and witnessing is paramount, but the most vital thing of all is obedience!
“Do you think Moses parted the red sea because of the rod? Was there any power in that rod? I tell you the power came through his obedience to God!” He let that soak in a little before he continued. “Now, Sister Emma obeyed God that night when He called on her to pray. Think about it. Only God knows what may have happened if she had decided to roll over and go back to sleep.
“It’s very simple. Sin is disobedience. Are you listening? It’s that elementary. Look at Adam and Eve. What got them thrown out of the garden? Disobedience! What will get us back into paradise? The paradise of God? Only obedience to God’s Word!”
