OK, this is a novel, so it is a fiction. I struggled with having this as part of the story, but it completed the story and I needed it for the story to make sense. So, hold on to your hats. Guess what happened next? I looked in the Bible for verses to confirm what I had been taught all my life. Not there. Go ahead and try to find any verses that tell of a spinning earth. All I could find was an earth that was stretched out, on pillars, stationary and so forth. It is a circle, yes. A circle is two dimensional. Talk about a great deception. But it is a deception that goes with "other beings from outer space" which is part of the story.
I wonder how Moses felt trying to tell people that God had made man in His image. The Egyptians taught evolution, ya know.

The Book of Jeremy
Monday morning, I lay on my bunk bed not quite awake, wondering, what do the flying saucers have to do with anything? My ceiling opened to the sky. I was taken up to an astounding height where I could see the whole Earth. It was so large and so…flat. I expected to see a curve and eventually the sphere turning but this didn’t happen. Looking around, I saw two glowing gossamer disks. Oh my! It was the sun and the moon! They were small compared to the Earth, and close. Both seemed the same size and distance from the Earth. This didn’t match anything I had been taught in school.
