“That reminds me…” I said. “Remember how two years ago we thought World War Three was going to hit any minute?”
Dad nodded. “Yes, that’s still a possibility.”
“But we are all still here,” I said.
Dad replied, “I guess that’s why Jesus said no one would know the day or the hour. But he did say we could know the season. When the fig tree buds, we know figs are on the way. We see the signs.” He ticked them off on his fingers. “A Middle Eastern peace treaty was just signed by almost all the surrounding countries, the plans for the third temple and all its furnishings are complete and building has begun, nations are ready for war, some people think we are already in World War III, money systems could fail anytime, UFOs are practically parking in every town, there’s earthquakes, famines, and, well, just read Matthew 24. It’s all around us.”
“When you talk like that, it makes me feel like something will happen any minute,” Mom said. Anna looked over at Mom and Dad. “You think it will be real soon now? Everything seems so peaceful. It’s hard to imagine.”
