The Book of Jeremy

I saw someone that looked like the Wizard of Oz tinkering with equipment. The “wizard” followed events on a screen depicting a map of the world. As he tapped buttons, clouds moved, and the rain poured down. The wizard smiled. He tinkered some more, and lakes dried up, trees died, and floods came.

      Then an alarm sounded. He turned to see the cause. A look of astonishment and fear filled his face. Hail stones, bigger than beach balls, were pummeling homes, people, and anything in their path. Lightning came like a fireball across the sky and thunder so loud the Earth shook.
