Rib-bit, rib-bit. The sound was right in my ear. Frogs hopped out of a murky pond. They just kept coming out. More and more. A line of slimy green branched out to city after city. The noise got louder and louder. They went into each home. Into the ovens, the refrigerators, dishwashers, every electrical appliance in the house. They croaked messages to each other and back to the pond where they came from. Information sang everywhere. The noise reverberated and seemed alive. I not only heard it, I felt it. The croaking took on the sound of a words: “Internet Of Things” and “Singularity.”
All of a sudden I was back in my room surrounded by an intense quiet.
I ran my hand over my short hair and reached for my journal
