Sitting around the campfire the last night at the lake, talk turned in many directions.
“So, Beth,”Dad began, “You spent a lot of time studying with Carl. Is there an interest there other than homework? The class is over and I noticed he is still calling.”
Beth’s blush could be seen even by the firelight. “Well, we talk about God. He goes to a different kind of church.”
Sally asked, “He’s not taking a summer class is he?”
Beth brushed a strand of her long blond hair away from her face as she said, “I don’t think so, Mom".
“Then see if he’ll come and talk to your dad about the Bible so we will know where he stands.”
Beth looked relieved, “OK, I’ll do that when we get home.”
Jeremy had something else on his miind, “Hey, Dad. Remember when we did the Hebrew number thing on president Sototro and it came out to 666? Now there’s gonna be a new election, right?”
Dad answered, “That’s right. It’s an election year. We’ll have a new president come January.Sotoro’s already bee
n in eight terrible years." Dad said as he threw a twig on the fire. "We’re almost done with him.” He picked up a poker and adjusted the fire.
“Then what do you think will happen? Could he still be the anti-Christ?” Anna asked.
Dad leaned forward before answering. “Well, we have to look at all the scriptures. His name might add up to 666 using the number value of the Hebrew letters but there are a few more things the Bible tells us about the Antichrist.”
