Who one is, is not a nationality, religion, race, or sex. Those are only temporary traits, exhibited only in this life. Who one is, is deeper and of eternal essence. The question is abstract, hardly capable of being described with words. Here I mean to portray that the essence of the I AM is not a concrete matter. I AM is not this or that; it just is. The journey of discovery thereof is the devotion and interest of a spiritual journey.
Furthermore, this is not necessarily a journey that goes smoothly for everyone – to figure out who one is and bravely exert that idea into the world is a matter of subjective discovery. Though it is a serious journey, it is quite a rewarding and a fun one most of all. For example, the topics in this book pave the path for how my personal journey reminded me of me, my nature of I AM. I AM is a concept that is not bound to measurement or practicality, yet it makes sense to each individual who searches its path. Each journey is personalized. There are many different ways on this journey, and no way is the wrong way.
While religious stories may have developed as an evolutionary means to share with generations to come the ideas which are Sacred and Divine, a personal devotion in this sacred space is a personal matter. To understand the spiritual concept of I AM, some have discovered Truths which are apparent and understood by no other means than through becoming conscious of the essential being one is, and furthermore, relating who one is to that which is sacred; this process is the journey of self-discovery, of the I AM discovery. Everyone has their unique method of waking up in the morning; so is the spiritual awakening path. Spirit knows best how to twine paths together to remind each individual of their I AM being.
