Are you unhappy with your weight, body, or health issues? Have you tried and failed multiple “diets” that promise a gorgeous body or spent a fortune trying to have that body the media portrays as perfect? Are you suffering from health issues like insulin resistance/pre-diabetes, diabetes, elevated bad cholesterol, high blood pressure, or irritable bowel syndrome? These ailments or frustrations can all benefit from improving your overall health and wellness.
Hot Mess to Wellness is not a diet or exercise book. This is not a quick fix or easy way to get skinny. This book is written for the average person who needs some advice and motivation to achieve optimal wellness. This book is written for the 40-year-old woman who feels “fat” and sluggish and cannot seem to lose weight or increase her energy despite trying over and over. This book is for the woman who wants to live a healthier life but just doesn’t know how. Author and physician, Amanda Zeine, takes you along on her journey to wellness after a traumatic injury. Step by step this book will show you that while not easy, it can be simple to find your optimal wellness no matter what stage of the journey you are traversing currently.
Amanda L. Zeine, DO is a pediatrician, wife, mother, and retired Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Zeine was born and raised in a small town in Central Illinois. She dreamed as a child of becoming a doctor and after high school attended Illinois State University while participating in the ROTC program. She graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in Science. With an educational delay granted from the United States Army, she attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007, she attended her pediatric residency with the United States Army at Tripler Army Medical Center. While in residency, she was blessed with a beautiful daughter. After graduation, she was moved to Ft. Campbell, KY and has practiced as a pediatrician and Army flight surgeon. While serving as a flight surgeon, she has been deployed twice. In December 2018, Dr. Zeine sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. With an eleven year career as a physician, she had a loss of identity when she could no longer practice effectively as a physician. It was then, that she wrote her first book Hot Mess to Wellness. Throughout her journey as an author, she improved dramatically, having fewer migraines and regaining her balance. Although with continued issues from her head injury, she was retired medically from the United States Army and now is focusing on her new project, Cul-de-sac Kids is a chapter book series for children of military service members that follows the life of an "Army Brat" named Chloe.
We all have doubts. We all have days where we need a little help. This book was written to meet you where you are TODAY. You may need to revisit a pillar more than once and that is okay. I constantly have to revisit my own words in order to "fix" myself and there is no shame in needing a little help or reminder every now and then.
"Winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit."

Hot Mess to Wellness
The bottom line is that you don’t need a fancy “diet plan”—that means no paleo, Atkins, keto, etc. You don’t need to cut out all carbohydrates because certain carbohydrates have some nutrients your body needs. In fact, you should never completely cut anything out of your diet, especially if you are the type of person who knows you will later end up binging.
