OMG, the laundry!
Does it ever end? Do you run from piles of clothes growing somewhere, or perhaps find yourself stuck in a bad rendition of “Laundry Groundhog Day?” The endless task of sorting, loading, unloading, folding, putting away, ironing, in addition to the dishes, toys, cleaning, and other household duties might drive us all bonkers. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the house and chores, you’re not alone.
According to a poll conducted by Forbes Woman and TheBump.com (a pregnancy website), 92 percent of working moms and 89 percent of stay-at-home mothers felt overwhelmed by everything going on in their lives. The poll questioned over 1,200 women, and of those, 70 percent of working moms and 68 percent of stay-at-home mothers said they feel resentful toward their partner because of all they have to do. Overwhelmed or not, the stuff still has to get done. While this is a problem all moms share, it is interesting how different our approaches are to managing the household. Some moms cannot stand to have a messy house. Some moms would rather do anything in the world before cleaning. And some of us are just so burnt out from doing the same thing over and over and over again, we’ve elected to toss the towel into the already overflowing laundry basket.
Isn’t it the worst when you spend all day cleaning and organizing your child’s room, only to come back ten minutes later and find it destroyed by hurricane toddler?
Here are a few suggestions, short cuts, tips, and resources we have picked up along the way to make life for all moms, working or at-home, less stressful when it comes to keeping up with the household chores.
If only there was a product that simply cleaned your house for you. Sadly, we’ve yet to discover one.
