There is a sacred pattern to this call through mentoring which can lead to a deep, meaningful relationship with a mentor. The acronym C.A.L.L. explains this pattern:
C is for Chemistry. There is a core gravitation immediately sensed by Paul and this young vibrant couple. The pull was mutual and laid the groundwork for their relationship. This natural connection is one we should pray for as we seek God in the layout of our hope-markers. Chemistry is also a confirmation from God that we are on the right track. We can have chemistry with more than one person, and mentoring doesn’t have to be exclusive. It does however, need to be bathed in the will of God. We are most successful as mentees when we have all of the components of the relationship in place. We may have chemistry with someone, and become prayer partners, or have other aspects of a relationship. But these components alone don’t always affirm the right timing for a mentoring relationship. Remember, chemistry is always mutual.
