Dropping the pole, he stared at her, his need etched across his face. He crossed the short distance between them and took her in his arms. She weakly protested but he ignored her and pressed his lips to hers in a passionate kiss. Halfheartedly, she tried to pull away, but he was too strong and she found herself being swept up by the emotion she was feeling. She put her arms around his neck and kissed him back, her passion matching his.
They stood locked together, desire growing as the kiss went on. Dex slid his lips down to nuzzle her neck, murmuring her name as his hands began to caress her body. The sound of her name brought Karen back to reality and she pulled away from him. Struggling to regain control of herself, she backed up until she was leaning on the rail of the boat. Breathing heavily, panic and desire in her eyes, she faced him.
"No, no, I can't, I can't," she cried as much to herself as to him. "I'm married, I have children. I can't. I just can't."
Dex saw tears threatening to spill over onto her cheeks and he struggled to get his emotions under control, angry with himself for breaking his vow to respect her marital status. But she had looked so beautiful standing there, hair all a mess with a smudge of zinc oxide still on her nose, smiling so brightly. He wanted her so badly it hurt.
