CHAPTER 15
A vision without action is a day-dream
Mammie insisted I at least take some water and a feather coat with me, and I was surprised that Snitch, the turkey, wanted me to take binoculars. He said I wouldn’t be able to see the forest for the trees. There were a few others who wanted to pack me up with a few worries and fears, but I opted to leave those behind. I knew I’d encounter new ones.
They asked which direction I was headed in, and I just pointed toward the mountains and said, “I’m following my instincts.”
“The only thing that is worse than being blind, is having sight but no vision.”

Sadly, I departed with a final ridicule. I was labeled a rebel. But I was pleased to hear Papa Blunt say, “You have within you the ability to do what you’re called to do.”
Mocker, the snake, rolled his eyes and hissed, “Birds of a feather flock together.”
I made sure I had eaten plenty of fish that morning since I really wasn’t sure who, what, or when I’d eat again. Then, I winged good-bye, promising I’d come back to see everyone on the farm.
To my surprise, Decoy came running and pleaded, “You could stay and pr-pro-protect the f-f-farm!”
Just then, Type-A flew in and scared poor Decoy half to death. The eagle asked me, “Where are you going?”
I said, “Toward that mountain.”
He began pushing me backward, saying, “You’re a late bloomer. You look sickly and out of place. Heading toward the mountain is not a good idea. You’re too weighted down, and you’ll never make it.”
I wondered what he knew that I didn’t, but still, I was determined to move forward. I decided right then, there is nothing I can’t do, just things I haven’t done!
