“I had two plans tonight. We could work on that creative dance we started two weeks ago, or I could start you on what I did before the world blew up, ballet.” I gave the same look she gave the girls. She laughed lightly.
“That’s what I thought, besides, it takes years to even become relatively okay at ballet.” I narrowed my eyes.
“You think I have no skill, you think I could never do it” I said. Valerie shook her head.
“No, no, it’s not that. Ballet does take a very long time to learn well, and there are so many different aspects to it. I barely even know enough about it, let alone teaching it. That’s what’s so nice about creative dances.” I shook my head, ready to make a joke out of it. I brought my foot up painfully in front of me so she could see my arch.
“You see that? That is the mark of a natural at ballet. Feast your eyes upon my amazing ability,” I boasted. The arch in my foot wasn’t that good, and what I just said was a lie, but it was worth it.
