The Slump, to me, is really about feeling down and losing interest in life. Although it may or may not reach the point of clinical depression, it is a slump we can all get into from time to time depending on situations in our lives or on a chemical imbalance in our brains. And these kinds of slumps usually boil over into our personal relationships.
And just like the batter in a hitting slump, when we enter a life slump we need to work through it. Like David Ortiz, we need not panic.
We need to find our "slump buster."
Whether seeing a mental health professional, going on medication, confronting the situation, or recommitting to working on our relationships, doing something, as opposed to nothing, can help break the slump. Failing to do anything, on the other hand, leads to an end of some sort, just like the end of a ball career.
