With the help of the Kyu-wons and Yeon-hees worldwide, Hye-jin published a crossword puzzle in all newspapers of the world. Readers struggled to solve the puzzle; people with high intelligence quotients solved the problem and discovered the final sentence: ‘We all are single citizens in the family of World’.
IT staff struggled all over the world to mitigate pains against worldwide hacking. They fought tooth and nail exactly the same way they did against the Y2K bug. Further investigations revealed that hacking in cloud databases was so severe that recovery was impossible for the next five years. What would happen to people of different age groups, married persons or bachelors? Would divorce lawyers survive? What would matchmakers do? What would happen to companies that deal with adult relationships? Would all citizens communicate with other citizens with the same level of mutual respect irrespective of sex, marital status, age, religion and the country of residence?
Further updates were available after a year. WO and UNO wanted the hackers to maintain default values of marital status and country of residence for everyone in the world for ten more years.
Marriage disappeared from the plans of most eligible bachelors. Homosexuals were happy that they maintained the same marital status as heterosexuals without losing benefits.
‘My parents taught us along the same lines’, both Jie-won and In-hye said when they first met in their years of innocence. ‘First, work hard to secure good jobs, then get married and use your charms to win love and thus live happily ever after.’
Hye-jin advised her followers, ‘Though marriages are no longer required, you still need a good education, then a good job. You might try to win love, but don’t take your spouse for granted. Your spouse might not continue with you through thick and thin, till death. You’ve to plan for your life after retirement; you have to save for yourself instead of whiling away your time and money for your spouse. Children’s books would no longer brainwash them for a happily married life. Cinderellas shouldn’t wait for princes to rescue them. Come what may, they have to support themselves.’
