Carnal Moon
“How often do you meet with her?” Gwen asked, her shoulders not as tight.
“Every three or four days. I don’t take enough to hurt her since I feed on a regular basis.” Nick was glad to see some of the stiffness had drained from Gwen. She wasn’t wholly appeased yet, but she didn’t look so devastated, either. “I make sure she takes care of herself, and if she’s sick, I don’t take from her. There’s a lot of rules I make her follow so she stays healthy.”
“And she isn’t anemic from the blood loss?”
“Not if she does things right.” Nick lightly smiled. “I don’t consume as much as you might think.”
“And she isn’t envious of you being with me?”
Nick chuckled. “Ana is positively giddy over this. She’s the one who arranged dinner at Cecilia’s. I haven’t been in a restaurant since 1840, not like I know what to do.”
