Life Lessons from a Tree
Perhaps it’s because I grew up on the Texas plains (where trees are few and far between) that I feel such an attraction to and affection for every tree I see. I believe trees show us the fullness of the life cycle through all seasons. From the deepest roots to the uppermost branches, the tree offers valuable insight into the relationship between seeds, fruit, falling leaves to bare branches, and our health. I’ve chosen illustrations for each of nature’s seasons that show the structure and form of the tree and its similarity to the human body. I believe that the Creator’s design of the tree and the human body includes noteworthy similarities. Parallels such as the roots/feet, trunk/body, branches/arms (limbs), sap/blood and fruit/healthy traits fascinate me.
