The most beautiful and God-inspired moments exist in our everyday experiences, triumphs, and struggles. Sometimes we feel as though our stories lack value or seem trivial relative to the world around us. We feel inconsequential or under-equipped to influence others. But the moments of our lives beautifully interweave throughout God’s great tapestry, and He has a plan and purpose for every part of our story. Our stories become powerful tools when we embrace and share them for the purpose of mentoring others. God empowers mentors to profoundly impact others by sharing their stories, and encouraging and equipping them to flourish.
My name is Joan Gallagher and I am so thankful you've joined me. I am a Christ-Follower writer, speaker, blogger, wife, mom, storyteller, and both a mentee, (I have so much to learn) and mentor. Recently I became a contributing writer for Sweet Jesus Ministries. A ministry devoted to pointing women towards Jesus. My devotion for mentoring and story telling stems from the rich lives women's experience and how God uses those stories to pave the way for those who are either just beginning their journey or find themselves at a spiritual crossroad. It is my intent to empower women to know that their stories can be used to make them into God's kingdom changers for others.
Story Seizing matters because it means we have victory over our past struggles, we no longer allow them to define us. I've seen in others as well as in myself the results of allowing the past to cripple so overwhelmingly that it's impossible to move into the future. It has been in the moments of story seizing that we have broken through the chains of defeat to move triumphantly into a celebrated future.

Hope-Markers: How Hope marks your story and changes the world
What is the result of our story seizing? A life turned over to the work and will of God. When we acknowledge our stories, we take the healthy, hurting, and healed parts of our past and use them as Hope-Markers in not only our lives but in the lives of others as well. These Hope-Markers guide our passions and our lives so we become the reality of all God has for us. We no longer allow our past to dictate who and what we are supposed to be and do. Instead, we have taken our story and put it through the filter of God’s holy work of redemption. He rescues our story and champions us to have victory over the hurting parts and rejoice over the healthy parts. We can rest, rejoice, and be rejuvenated knowing Jesus is right next to us as we walk our journey. We are more able to focus on His plan when we acknowledge our Hope-Markers and keep our tools close by our side to influence our journey.
