There was a big explosion that, as Andrew recalled, sent things flying everywhere, but then he remembered what looked like the debris freezing in air and being sucked back to its original position.
Regardless of what he thought he saw, Andrew opened his eyes and found himself laying on the garage floor. He sat up, unsteadily, and removed his goggles. He was frustrated, and looked down at the ground. Then he looked up at his workbench and at the clock. It now read 7:05. How did he get on this side of the garage? The door to the house opened and Julie walked out in her bathrobe heading toward the refrigerator in the garage. She looked over and saw Andrew sitting on the ground looking very confused.
“I thought I just left you upstairs in bed, asleep. How did you get dressed and down here so fast? And how did you get so dirty already?”
“I,” Andrew didn’t know what to say, “I’ve been down here for a while.”
