1 Corinthians 13:8
Love never fails.
Dear Heavenly Father
I come again to the foot of Your throne. With eager anticipation I search Your eyes and await Your words for me. Your love for me is the main thing that keeps me going on the hard days I face. I'm so grateful You chose me as Your adopted child.
Guide my life.
Continue to deepen this relationship as I grow stronger in my Christian walk. Thank You for speaking directly to me by giving me the Bible in my language. Thank You for the faith to trust You for those aspects of You that are too difficult for my finite mind to comprehend. Grant me wisdom.
This look I've made into the virtues that make up this emotion called love has been so enlightening. Help me by Your Holy Spirit to apply what I've learned and make it more a part of my life. Help me trust that You have me on an individual track that doesn't need me to compare myself to anybody else. Keep me humble.
Give me the patient perseverance to forgive the wrongs done to me just as Jesus was able to ask forgiveness for those murdering His innocent life. Grant me kind eyes that look past my own interests and into those hurting souls around me who need Your love, too. Use me admirably.
Thank You for the promise that love never does fail. It's the only thing I'll bring to heaven with me when my time comes to enter into Your presence. The spiritual gifts You grant me will no longer be necessary. My faith will be revealed before me as I see You face to face. Propel me onward.
My hope will be realized as the warmth of Your love engulfs me by Your light that knows no shadows. The family unity I'll experience will be like nothing I can even comprehend now. I thank You for this future love that I'm only touching in my life now. Use me to spread the message of Your love to others who need it, too. Focus my attention.
It's in the mighty name of Jesus I ask this. AMEN
