The garage was quiet, except for the heavy breathing sound of Matt sitting on the garage floor. He looked up at the POD doorway where Andrew was still standing looking shocked. He continued to stare at the spot from where the other Andrew had vanished. “I liked our lives when we were back in high school,” Matt said. “At least when we had someone to deal with, it was someone that we could deal with! Not someone that started a fight then vanished into thin air!” The room remained silent. “Are you going to say anything?”
Andrew swallowed. He blinked. “I’m not sure what to say,” he said quietly. “I don’t even know who that was or why he was here. It was me, but it wasn’t me.”
“It wasn’t you,” Matt huffed. “He wasn’t anything like you. Well, he looked like you. He dressed like you. So, he looked AND dressed like you but he didn’t act like you. So, I guess that even though he wasn’t you, he was a you look alike, bent on taking over the world and making all creatures subject to his evil rule.”
