“As I was saying, I came to a future world much like this one, but no one knew of it. They didn’t know about it because in the realm of reality, it really didn’t exist except for a very short time. The reason the world existed at all was partly my fault. If I had never shown up, this world would have been much different. I realized this through other travels into the future beyond so I set out to correct, as best I could, the error I had made. Why, all of humanity depended on it! It was a very heavy burden to bear. Finally, one day, I was able to make it back to the exact time I had hoped, and being there, I was able to cause a distraction just long enough to allow myself on a previous visit to escape back in time, thus setting the time line back on the right course. Of course, it really wasn’t entirely that simple. I had to go back and correct other things in other times, but eventually, things were set straight.”
Roger was suspicious and narrowed his eyes at Andrew. “When,” Roger swallowed hard, “exactly was this time?” As he asked the question, his clothing changed from the suit he was wearing, to a more casual look with no jacket and blue jeans. Andrew smiled to himself.
Several officers vanished and others reappeared in their places. Jolena watched in amazement as she sat next to Andrew seeing the changes unfold around her. Even though she found herself being aware of what was going on, she felt as if everything was the way it should be.
Andrew said, “It was the here and now, Roger.”
