Kathy Meis – Founder and CEO

 

kathyphotoKathy Meis is an entrepreneur, writer, editor and editorial manager with more than twenty years of experience in the media and publishing industry. She started her career as a television news reporter for the CBS affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky, then moved to print and became a founding editor of Forbes MediaCritic. Kathy is also a founding partner of PubSmart, a new author-centric publishing conference in Charleston, South Carolina. She also ghostwrites business books and is a frequent blogger on the subject of book promotion, author branding, social media and discoverability. In 2012, Kathy won the People’s Choice Award at the Startup Showcase at O’Reilly’s Tools of Change Publishing Conference. She studied Journalism and English at Indiana University.

 

Charles Wyke-Smith – Chief Product Officer

In the mid-80s, Charles Wyke-Smith founded San-Francisco-based PRINTZ Electronic Design, an early all-computerized design studio, and has continued to be a pioneer in interactive media development. He has worked in management and consulting roles at Wells Fargo, ESPN Videogames and Benefitfocus, where he was Director of User Experience. Prior to joining Bublish, Charles was Vice President of Strategy at PeopleMatter, focused on development of its human resources HR platform for the services industries. He is also the author of three best-selling web design and development books: Stylin’ with CSS, Codin’ for the Web, and Scriptin’ with JavaScript and Ajax. His next book, “Visual Stylin’ with CSS3” will be published in July 2012. Wyke-Smith studied Economics at Trent University in England.

 

Joy Capps – Chief Marketing Officer

Joy Capps

Joy Capps is an award-winning, results-driven business communicator who thrives on building relationships and brands through strategic marketing communication campaigns. Each program she develops consistently increases visibility, augments sales, expands brand awareness, grows existing customer bases and engenders customer loyalty. Over the years she has provided brand building and marketing communications support to many companies, including Compaq Computer Corp., Enron, Stan Lee Media, TECO, Safety-Kleen Corp., Benefitfocus and PeopleMatter. Joy’s experience is complemented by a Master’s Degree and leadership roles in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), including a three-year term on IABC’s International Board of Directors.

 

Tamara Frederickson - Lead Architect

Tamara Frederickson

Tamara is the Lead Architect for Bublish and the President & Founder of TJ Interactive. As an integral part of Bublish’s core team, she possesses high strategy and project management skills. With more than a decade of experience as a full-stack LAMP Ninja and Engineer, Tamara has experience working with Enterprise level web applications, PHP, MySQL, MVC frameworks, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. She has also worked with jQuery to build robust applications for web and mobile devices. Over the years, she has applied her talent for building phenomenal code to FEMA, GoLightly Community, Trekkel, ConvoSpark, Simon Wiesenthal Center and CustEx. Tamara scored an amazing 100 percent (800/800) on the Analytical Reasoning (Mathematics) section of the GRE and a 96 percent (770/800) on the Quantitative (Mathematics) section. Her analytical nature shines through in her code writing skills.
