When I Pray For Him: A Wife's Guide To Praying The Word Over The Life Of Her Husband

Parenting & Relationships

Are you a Christian wife struggling to pray for your husband? The Scripture (Psalm 103:20) says that angels harken unto the voice of the Word of God. If you pray the Word of God and BELIEVE, not doubting you will see tangible results in the life of your husband. Let the words that you voice over the life of your husband be the Word of God. The author experienced this same difficulty and was inspired by this same scripture to search the Bible for God's promises for her husband. Persevering in faith, she was able to see changes in her husband. These changes brought forth an improvement in their marriage, in terms of intimacy with each other and with God as well as the confidence to persevere and stay the course.

Declarations about Intimacy

Oftentimes we curse ourselves with our own mouths by uttering negatives instead of what the Word of God says about us. If the fire has gone out of your marriage, rekindle it by these declarations in faith. When we speak the Word of God in faith we activate angels to act on our behalf. Persistent faith yields results

THE BED DEFILED

Parenting & Relationships

I think that the most disturbing thing about the high rate of divorce in the church for me is not only the agony that comes in the wake of such destruction, but the effect on the unbelieving couple when they see a Christian marriage fall apart. When they see this, I believe that one of two things happen; (a) the reinforcement of their belief that OUR belief in God is foolishness, or (b) that there is no hope for their marriage. I am not a marriage guru, or counsellor. I am quite simply a wife who was in search of answers to the myriad of problems I was facing in my marriage. I believe that wrong positioning causes us to miss the great things of God in our lives, and recognizing that God is indeed a God of order, I was seeking answers on how to get my marriage in order. I had to deal with the issues of fear, misplacement of our faith, broken covenants and how I pray over my the life of my husband. A question that kept coming up in my talks with my peers..."Does the Christian couple have a safe place in the church to air their concerns on any topic relating to their marriage including the issue of sex?"

Transition to the New

As Christians, we tend to either operate under the bondage of law or freedom of salvation through Jesus Christ. There is no need for a "penance" when we sin, just genuine repentance and the acceptance that once we confess our sins, He is just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness

The Misplacement of Faith

Sometimes we place our faith in our marriage, our spouse, our jobs. They become our idols and replace God, in whom we should place our complete trust

Is the love really gone?

Sometimes we are in a relationship and it seems as if the love has run out. The temptation is to change partners because "this is just not working out". What is usually needed is a new perspective. Perhaps what we see as running out of love is really evidence of something else that is faulty and can easily be fixed
