You really can heal yourself

At the advice of my world-class acupuncturist, Dr. Yong Ping Chen, I decided to learn qigong to overcome increasingly debilitating bouts of bronchitis and to quell other persistent health issues. My search took me immediately to a Chinese-born international qigong grand master who was coming to San Diego in two weeks to teach levels 1, 2, and a hands-on qigong method he developed called qi-ssage. In the first class it was obvious to me that not only did I want to use qigong to heal my own ills, but I wanted to make it my life purpose to help others heal as well. Qigong is an experience. No words can tell you how powerful this energy healing modality is. You need to experience it for yourself. In this book, you will learn a lot about qigong from a beginner's perspective. At the same time, I'm developing a video course you can join to begin experiencing the wonders of qigong for yourself. May you test this ancient wisdom to prepare your body to heal itself--body, mind, and soul, to maintain your health, to reach peak performance, and to increase your longevity.

Qigong is an experience

There is a way to make learning come alive when you read. Rather than forging through and forgetting, set an intention before your start. Then read more consciously--more slowly--a thought at a time. Take time to absorb what you read by thinking it through. Make it yours. Practice what you learn along the way.
