Jayson Easley has done everything his family expected: Stayed clear of trouble, graduated college with honors, and landed a good job. A proud, HBCU graduate poised for success, Jayson decides not to return home to Philadelphia. Instead, he chooses to start his new life in Chicago - away from his family, their expectations, and judgment. On the quest for freedom and independence, he comes face-to-face with fear, rejection and the harsh realities of being young, gay, and black in the 80's - when house music reigned, friendships were treasured, and AIDS, ravaged an already isolated community. Fear, however, proves no match against Jayson's desire for love and self-acceptance. And while the score of life plays, he decides to dance.
