Using his Gift of Sight, Captain Davage has gotten a glimpse of the Black Hat’s face, and is shocked. She is the exact double of a beloved friend of his--a friend who is dead. Princess Marilith

Captain Davage and Princess Marilith had been at each other's throats for seventy years, a constant topic of A-List gossip throughout the League. The fact they had nearly been wed in a grand Vith ceremony only added to their acclaim.

The 6th Turn: Katl

Science Fiction & Fantasy

Lord Belmont’s life ended in Clovis, in the impenetrable darkness beneath the ground where forbidden rites were once held. Lady Gwendolyn was his love, body and soul, and the Demon in Blue Light killed her. Every year, on the anniversary of Gwen’s death, he returns to Clovis to stand in the cold desolation, hearing the wind moan through the lonely passes, feeling her loss all over again. On this anniversary, he wasn’t alone in Clovis. He hears the noises rustling in the brush. He smells the raw river of Shadow tech. Then he sees it: The claws … The flicking tail … The maniacal, glittering eyes fixed on him … “I’ve been waiting for you,” it says in a grating voice as it attacks.

Stenibelle pities Lady Lessa of Walpole

Lady Stenibelle has infiltrated the Sprint Ship George Parr. Her mission is to gather data and deliver it to her benefactor, Hannah-Ben Shurlamp. Along the way, she discovers something terrible has befallen the crew of the ship. Her mission is critical, but, she can't help but take an interest in the plight of the crew and help them if she can.

A-Ram and Alesta confront Stenibelle

Lord A-Ram and Lady Alesta appear in all of the Shadow tech Goddess books. They act as guides, assisting the various versions of Paymaster Stenstrom through the various universe. Occasionally, they have to apply some "tough loving", as in this situation, where Lady Stenibelle desperately needs a kick in the butt.

Lady Stenibelle meets her benefactor: Hannah-Ben S

Professor Hannah-Ben Shurlamp is one of my personal favorite characters, and depending on the story, she can either be a valuable asset, or a vile enemy. With her towering wig and continual scheming, she's totally fun to write and always a formidable presence to be respected.
