Cats and the Supernatural
If you own or have owned a cat, at least once in your life you must have wondered why it was staring into space, pupils dilated, for minutes at a time, looking intently at something you couldn't see. Just Google "Can cats see ghosts?" and you'll know what I mean. I have always been fascinated by the association between cats and the supernatural in folk tales and mythology, and this interest sparked the idea for this middle-grade supernatural mystery "The Cat Who Chased Ghosts". But the heart of the story came from two special orange tabbies I had the privilege of sharing my life with and who became the inspiration for Whiskers, the hero of my tale.
