Self-centeredness = Suffering

Here are some thoughts on why there is so much suffering in the world. Read the rest of this chapter to see six further points illustrating the benefits we can glean from our suffering. Yes, suffering has and important purpose.

A Divine Experience of Mine

This is a story of an experience of God's presence, which I had one morning. Words cannot describe how real these experiences are to me. Indeed, we will never regret not compromising our time in God’s presence. I regularly have similar experiences, which average about ten minutes long. Each time, I feel a priceless reassurance that I am right where God wants me to be. I also work much more focused and efficiently, and neither can words describe the peace that is generated.

We Do Well to Leave God Have Control

Yes, it sure is scary to think about, but it is only when we put God in the driver's seat of our life and leave our hands off the controls, as illustrated in these personal stories, that we will finally experience life to its fullest. God cannot work miracles in our life if we do not give Him the controls, for He has chosen to let us choose to surrender to Him. If our life is rotten it is because we have our hands on it's steering wheel, so to speak.

A Solution to Our Problems

Are many of humanities problems not a result of their bad choices, and their avoidance of God's all-wise? Ultimately, we would have far less problems if we only practiced living by God's standards.

Selfishness - World's Worst Pandemic

I was amazed, when I did the research, to find that about 30% of human deaths are a result of selfishness. How can we humans be so blind to the worst pandemic in human history? Is it not our own self-centeredness that has blinded us to these facts?

We Need Truth!

Yes, many times the truth is quite scary, and it is much easier to just ignore reality. But friend, we must brave up and face the facts if we want to rise above our problems and ultimately overcome. Ignoring the facts will never be worth it in the long run.
