Sam Olgeve is a strong young woman who moved from St. Louis, MO. to a small town, Plainville, WY. She became an accountant to the attorney’s office and opened her own business. Living a simple life in the west was different from the wealthy social life where she had been raised. She became acquainted with the people and their ways. The town was active and her first social was the church’s Pie Supper. She married, Ted Grains, who owned the largest ranch in Wyoming. The first tragedy was difficult for her to recover. After returning to St. Louis, she closed the doors on her past. Ted came and took her back home where they were the backbone of the ranch, community, and several young couples. Sam was called on for her down to earth philosophy. They and their three children made an adventurous life.

Sam, a self-assured strong woman, slapped the reins over the back of the four black horses slick with sweat from the long run down the hard earth road towards Plainville, Wyoming.
