Fizzlewink: Cat or Man?

Fizzlewink's condition is not uncommon among his kind. They have an affinity to the feline nature and it is their second nature. Though his natural state is that of a man-like being of short -and blue- stature, Fizzlewink spent a great deal of time stuck in cat form over the last decade. His tendencies to behave more like a stubborn and self-centered feline is habitual at present, but I'm not certain it's something his character will grow out of.

Blue Screen of Death

Science Fiction & Fantasy

Life for Colby Stevens has not been going his way. He’s just turned sixteen, summer has begun, and the bullies in school won’t leave him alone. His only solace at home is a quirky Nana who can’t cook, a resentful and distant older sister and an alcoholic mother who doesn’t even remember his birthday. His dad disappeared when Colby was six years old and the details from that night are a little fuzzy. Things take a wild turn when Colby’s emotions get the better of him and his bully ends up on the receiving end of humiliation. And Colby never even laid a hand on him. He discovers he possesses an ancient magic his father had bound to keep him safe. When his magic reappears, it’s powerful, hard to control, but at least his strange childhood memories are beginning to make sense. Colby and his friends end up in an all-day detention overseen by a visiting archeology professor who makes Colby the president of the school’s new club. Something strange occurs to the students, but Colby didn’t conjure it. Seems he’s not the only supernatural in school. Now, Colby must learn to gain control of his abilities and he creates an app he hopes will help. His muse, an odd little blue man, is assigned to help Colby and to keep him safe.

Enough is Enough!

Colby Steven's has been taunted and teased for years for being different. What makes him special beside being who he is, becomes evident when his magic resurfaces after a decade of being hobbled for mysterious reasons. Colby wants desperately to just be left alone and the emotional baggage he already carries from his home life and the years of teasing erupts with his magic.

The Game of Runes

The game of runes is a cross between dominos and chess, but with magical symbol etched tiles. The object is simple at its core; collect runes and combinations in increasing difficulty until either player or team runs out of runes, retires or is eliminated by a point spread greater than one hundred. The children at Colby's special school play without knowing the true magic behind the runes, but others remember the power behind assembling the runes in particular patterns. What the children see as a way of getting points, others see as a training tool for an uprising in magic.

Who is Colby Stevens?

Colby has felt different from others his age for as long as he can remember. He is not only about to find out that he is descendant to a long family line of ancient magic users, but he is beginning to understand feelings that set him apart as well. He was raised in a quirky house filled with even quirkier women. That alone has had a major influence on how Colby sees himself and the world, but it is not enough to explain the desires he has to right every wrong while feeling powerless to do so. Colby is bullied or at least until now he has been. You mix a little magic and a short temper that has been boiling over and see what happens.
