First Impressions
This is one of those scenes that seems simple, a trope we've read time and again. Our heroine runs into the mysterious stranger and from the beginning we're convinced there will be more to come. But there are always layers to a scene and to these characters especially. One of the big themes of Silver Hollow is "nothing as it seems," and this scene is a perfect example. Of course, I won't spoil the rest for you. You'll have to read the rest of the story to find out who exactly Amie's stranger is to her, and the significance behind the key.
