A baker should never text and slice
Matty is Angel's co-worker at Bake Off--a bakery and cafe in the North End of Boston. Matty is also the closest thing Angel has to a real friend. Matty is a loveable queen who would do absolutely anything for Angel. In this scene, Matty asks Angel to come in early so that he can go on his date with hot and decent, Darren. What Matty doesn't know is that Angel has no way to get to work--no easy way at least. Matty brings fun and humor to Angel's fearful world. I loved writing his character.

When Ethan finds out Angel is a virgin... This was one of my favorite moments to write. Angel is 21 and has been on her own since she was sixteen. Her only encounters with men prior to Ethan have ended tragically. Ethan might just be the one to break down the walls she has erected around her heart and her body.
