They Could Be Saviors

Literature & Fiction

Five kidnapped billionaires. A hidden compound. A sisterhood of psychedelic therapists forcing the men who broke the planet to fix it. No negotiations. No ransom demands.

Josh Latham, CEO of the world's largest corporation, is extracted from his home and held captive with four other billionaires. Mel, the director of the operation, believes these men could solve climate change if they cared about anything besides themselves, money, and power. But she’s drinking again and running out of time to prove she's right. If the mission fails, none of them go home. Not the billionaires, and not the women who took them.

Survival of the fittest - billionaire logic.

Josh believes he earned his place at the top the way a predator earns a meal. In his mind, Omnicia is proof that he is the fittest, and his sons are proof that the fitness gets passed down. That belief lets him look at rising seas and shrug, because anyone who suffers from them must not have been strong enough to avoid it. If other people's children don't make it, he sees that as nature sorting things out. I wrote him this way because the survival of the fittest story is the one powerful men like to tell about themselves. They call it merit and drive. They rarely call it luck or a head start. I did not write him to be liked.
