The Unwilling

Science Fiction & Fantasy

Bite his friend—and be branded a criminal—or let his friend die, it’s a decision that has Oliver and Lewis running for their lives—and not just from the Lunar One Justiciars. The job went south, their client wants them to join up or die…and their target is out to get their data back—along with a side of revenge. With bounty hunters on their tails, Oliver and Lewis make for the shelter of lupari territory, but will the space wolves take in two stray weres, or will they turn them over for the bounty on their heads?

Some changes are harder to take than others..

I wanted to explore what being a were was like...and I wanted to write an adventure story featuring one of the werewolves of Lunar One. With Oliver and Lewis I got to do both. When a covert job goes south, and I don't mean for the winter, Oliver has to turn his human friend into a werewolf in order to save his life. Doing that without permission is a crime that has serious consequences on Lunar One. Not doing it means Lewis dies, and Oliver can't let that happen. In this scene, Lewis discovers what Oliver has done...and I was much entertained by the shenanigans that followed. If your friend had saved your life, but turned it upside down and inside out at the same time, how would you react?

Mack 'n' Me: Origins

Science Fiction & Fantasy

I ran away from home to find a better life—not be forced into one. You can call me picky, but a girl likes to be asked if she wants to work for you, not coerced—and Odyssey should know better. Now, I have to find a way to kick free—of Odyssey, and my trainer, Mack—without getting myself killed. Surviving the mission is just the first step. Getting out from under, that’s gonna take some doing. NOTE: The main character swears like a sailor, and the support cast aren’t much better. If swears bother you, then this story may not be to your taste.

An unlikely heroine in a ton of trouble...

I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote Cutter, save that she was always in trouble...and that the trouble usually got a lot worse before it got any better. She's not perfect, and her attitude sucks, but she has her reasons. I wanted an imperfect heroine, someone who made her choices and stuck by them, regardless, but someone who could make a difference, too. And I wanted to show, that in a world where things were often tough, dark and a little unfair, life could still work out in the long run. Most of all, I wanted to tell Cutter's story, as I discovered it - and see what she made of the hand she'd been dealt.
