Xander's Folly is the second book in the King's Jewel fantasy series that blends Celtic mythology with a modern story. If you like drama, romance, and plots with twists and turns...
I originally had this scene at the end of Book 1 in this series, Tressa's Treasures. My astute editor, Kim Graff, suggested it would be better placed as an opening to the second book. And she was right- as editors often are! Our couple, Tressa and Alexander, are in the center of it all. But who's exactly is on trial? I can't tell you that! It would spoil the fun! Keep reading for an exciting scene with an unexpected ending.
Someone is Killing Leprechauns. All Tressa wants is a quiet wedding with just her loved ones around her. That hope is lost when large numbers of the fae come into the Human World to witness the King's Jewel marry, bringing murder, sickness, and the rise of evil with them. Will the people of Findale, a small town in the Pocono Mountains, discover the existence of the fae? Does the Unseelie Prince, who has sworn to kill Tressa have one of the lost treasures? And can the assassin killing the Leprechauns be stop before he kills again? This third book in the King's Jewel series continues Tressa and Alexander's story of love and intrigue as they search for the lost treasures of the Tuatha de Danann to return the Sidhe into heaven's good graces.
Book three of The King’s Jewel series, and our couple is finally planning their wedding. This excerpt is from the first chapter of Deaglan’s Deception. Here you’re already getting a taste of the obstacles that will threaten those plans. I had so much fun imagining what traditions a Sidhe wedding would include — surrounded by nature, of course, and it would have to have lots of music. What would a Sidhe bride wear? You’ll need to read the book to find out what traditions I decided on for Tressa. You didn’t expect me to tell you now, did you? LOL.
Deaglan Mór has brutally conquered Tír na nÓg. Mór has intensified his murderous search for Tressa, intent on disrupting the prophecy before she finds the last of the lost treasures of the Tuatha de Danann. With Tressa's people on the brink of starvation and the Seelie resistance fighters scattered and disorganized, newlyweds Tressa and Alexander must fight to return to The Otherworld and join the resistance. Can Tressa and Alexander save her dying brethren, revitalize the resistance and bring down this evil tyrant? Sophia's Song is the fourth book in the King's Jewel Series. If you like enduring love, Celtic fantasy in the modern world and nail biting drama you will love this story.
Throughout the entire King’s Jewel series, it’s pretty obvious that there’s something special about Sophia. But is she a Changeling? Hmmm, maybe. But I will tell you that the idea of a Changeling features heavily in this final installment of the series. Who or what is Sophia? Will Tressa ever fulfill the prophecy of the King’s Jewel? Will the Seelie defeat Deaglan and his Unseelie armies to win the war? Sophia’s Song answers all these questions, with a few surprises sprinkled in.
A Fae in hiding. A discarded backpack. A pharmacist murdered. Escaping the notoriety she’d acquired in The Otherworld,Sloan Murray packed up her loyal cocker spaniel Max and left her fellow fae to settle in the small town of Findale.Sloan thought her new life in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania would change for the better, become quieter, less unpredictable––if only a small group of fae hadn’t followed her into this new world. Still,Sloan’s enjoying her relative anonymity until she attempts to return alost backpack and ends up accused of murder. Suddenly, not only do half the town think they know who she is, they’re under the misconception she’s a dangerous killer. Will Sloan and her fae friends unravel the dead pharmacist’s secrets before the obstinate Det. Moody arrests her for murder? Time is ticking, and if Sloan can’t find the real murderer soon, not only will she lose what’s left of her magical anonymity, she will lose her freedom forever. The Good Pharmacist’s Deadly Secrets is a cozy who-done-it with a little something for everyone––humor, mystery, fae, and even a lovable dog!
Sloan's lovable sidekick, Max the cocker spaniel, is based on my son's dog- also Max and also a cocker spaniel. Both the fictional and real life Max are full of shenanigans that can get them into sticky situations. This excerpt is a prime example. Max vs the squirrels leading up to Max vs speeding pickup. And this is just the beginning of the book!
Her identity is secret. Her destiny is incredible. Tressa is a fae in hiding. Unable to fulfill her transcendent role in an ancient prophecy, she hides on her grandmother's estate in the Pocono Mountains. Tressa is content to work in her small shop and fake her humanity, but she knew she couldn't stay hidden forever. When she uses her powers to protect a friend, strange things begin to happen all around her. The Unseelie are nearby, the enemy of Tressa's people, and they're coming for her. As the dark fae come closer, Tressa must use the powers she's hidden for so long to keep the people she loves alive. Tressa's Treasures is the first book in a fantasy series based on Celtic mythology with a twist. If you like engaging plots, grownup love stories, and twists and turns, then you'll love Belinda Gordon's unique twist on faerykind.
I just love Shamus and I hope you will too! Shamus is a fae, specifically a Brounie, who is bonded with Tressa's grandmother, Órlaith. He's basically a lovable curmudgeon who tries to keep his mistresses' life in good order. He's also a fountain knowledge throughout the series. He's charitable and helpful to others but acts begrudgingly while doing it except when it comes to Órlaith. Fun fact: Brounies are impervious to searing heat or freezing cold. Tell me your favorite scene with Shamus!
In this scene we see the first sparks between Tressa and Alexander. There are so many things happening in these first two chapters. Tressa is hiding who—or what—she truly is from everyone around her. Yet when she steps in to help her friend and coworker from an abusive husband, the truth threatens to come out! And what does Alexander mean when he says ‘I didn’t see you coming’? Could there be more to that? You bet there is! Right now Tressa’s Treasures is available on Amazon for only 99c
