‘So what do we do now?’
As usual, once the initial madness had worn off and there were no aliens to disembowel, except Yoreth, who’d probably object if they tried, Sad-case was quickly bored. He stared at the navigational monitor looking hopefully for something menacing coming their way, but it was turned off.
‘I’ve turned it off.’ Yoreth said apologetically.

Derrick turned to David, sitting in the co-pilot’s seat, gnawing his bottom lip. For him, too the excitement of the chase was rapidly wearing thin. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the spaceship had been a gleaming needle, or a weapon bedecked monster. But it was a van. It might look like something else from the outside, and be a little bigger now she’d pressed the magic button, but it was just a van. And as good as it might be for delivering stuff, or getting them from one planet to another, it was always going to be just that. And why were they all dented and manky and smelling of cat wee?
